What it does
VA Form 21-22 names a recognized Veterans Service Organization (DAV, VFW, AMVETS, American Legion, etc.) or the county Veterans Service Office (CVSO) as the veteran's accredited representative on VA claims. Representation is free; the VSO can file, track, and appeal claims for the veteran.
Eligibility
Any veteran or eligible dependent filing or planning to file a VA claim. VSO representation costs nothing.

Processing time
Form 21-22 is logged by the VA within 7-14 days of submission. Power-of-attorney is effective on receipt by the VSO.
