First-person accounts

Lived experience

Marcus, on /marcus, is composite. The accounts here are not. Each one was shared by a real person who signed a consent form and chose how their name appears. They can withdraw at any time, for any reason, without explanation.

Current state

No accounts published yet

Anadora is conducting field interviews in Lancaster, Palmdale, and across the Antelope Valley through Phase 0. Where someone wants their story shared and consents to publication, that account will appear here.

See /letters for the partner-side process; the consent form for lived-experience accounts is a separate document, available on request from partners@guardiansofsolano.com.

What we publish and what we don't

  • Consent first. Nothing appears on this page without a signed consent form. The narrator picks their name, their population label, and their age range. They can withdraw within five business days.
  • No domestic-violence survivor stories. Per VAWA confidentiality (34 U.S.C. § 12291(b)(2)) and our own architecture, we never publish DV-survivor narratives on public surfaces, even with consent. Those stay private.
  • No photographs. Dignity is structural, not decorative. No identifying images, no portraits, no incidental shots.
  • No service contingency. Sharing or not sharing has zero effect on what someone receives from Guardian. We've separated these completely on purpose.
